You need a flexible, well-paying side job that supports your passion for music.
But actually teaching is just one part of providing music lessons. You need to find students, collect payments and deal with all the other stresses that come with running a business.
You should be able to make great money doing what you love on your own schedule.
Mobile Music Academy’s been in business since 2008, and has earned an excellent reputation in our music-loving community. Most of our teachers stay with us for many years, teaching on the side while pursuing their music careers.

I love working with Mobile Music Academy! The students are great, the owner is awesome, and the rates are fantastic! I have worked with them for almost a decade, and have had tons of students for multiple years. I encourage any music teacher to partner with them!
Mobile Music has been a great company to work for. I've been able to gain a lot of teaching experience with students of all ages, which has really developed me into a better teacher. I'm also able to create my own schedule, which is beneficial for someone like myself who plays music and is considering going to grad school. Mobile Music has my highest recommendation!
I've been fortunate to work with Mobile Music Academy, going on 5 years, now. As someone who teaches private lessons, full time, MMA makes it so easy to find quality students, in safe homes. Not only do you have complete freedom to schedule as you please, you can teach however you'd like, using whatever book/method you'd prefer. They also handle billing, and have an incredibly easy online teacher workspace, where you can flawlessly notate completed/missed lessons for the month. On a more personal note, MMA is really wonderful about supporting their contracted teachers. On the very rare occasion there is a student/parent disagreement, MMA has never failed to support me and be on my side, something I so sincerely respect. As an independent contractor, that is not always the case, and it definitely makes you feel valued and appreciated. I will always recommend working with Mobile Music Academy, and highly encourage any teacher, whether they desire to teach full or part time, to check them out!
